Archive to the Future
Orgins
The materials for Archive to the Future embody the essence of nature, time, and geology. Through these materials, humanity seeks to reconcile its evolution with its primal origins, recognizing that despite technological leaps, our fundamental nature remains rooted in the Earth.
Plants, with their resilience and capacity for regeneration, become emblematic of this connection. The soil itself embodies the cyclical nature of existence, where what is temporary returns to nourish new life. Plant based materials like hemp, linnen and nettle play a crucial role in the Circular Economy. Synthetic materials can persist in the environment for hundreds of years, while plant-based materials break down naturally and return to the earth.
E-waste is mixed with wood to create a new material that feels natural and that is durable. Filament screens shield the sun and can be used as a temporary solution to be used over and over again. It is in this balance between the ephemeral and the eternal that we find the essence of our legacy, a legacy that, like the plants and the soil, roots itself in the past, blossoms in the present, and extends its branches into the future, leaving a rich inheritance for those yet to come.
